Guilty plea entered in Escanaba meth case

ESCANABA — A man from Washington state recently pleaded guilty to a 10-year meth felony in Delta County Circuit Court.

Jeffrey Michael Brinkman, 39, of Spokane, Wash., was arrested as an habitual offender on one count of possessing meth, a 10-year felony with a maximum fine of $15,000, in connection with a Sept. 22, 2017 incident in Escanaba.

Brinkman pleaded guilty to possessing meth and will be sentenced in circuit court on Jan 16. He remains lodged in the Delta County Jail in lieu of 10 percent of a $75,000 bond.

In exchange for the guilty plea, the prosecution agreed to dismiss the habitual offense notice.
