Ford River traffic stop leads to heroin arrest

FORD RIVER TOWNSHIP — Investigation continues into a traffic stop in Ford River Township this past weekend which led to the arrest of one person charged with intent to distribute heroin, a 20-year felony, according to the Delta County Sheriff’s Department.

While conducting a traffic stop on Sunday, deputies located approximately four grams of heroin in the vehicle and arrested one subject who was lodged in jail. The vehicle was also seized.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by troopers from the Michigan State Police Post in Gladstone.

The name of the suspect is not being released pending the person’s arraignment in Delta County District Court.
