Defendants named in meth arrest case

ESCANABA — Two individuals recently arrested on meth charges in Gladstone have been identified as an Escanaba woman and a Gladstone woman, according to Delta County District Court.

Following a vehicle stop on June 14, Gladstone Public Safety arrested Tiffani Lara Conner, 28, of 4935 Danforth Road, Escanaba, and Sarah Jean Doutree, 24, of 5971 Oak 22.25 Lane, Gladstone, on South Lake Shore Drive.

Conner and Doutree were each arraigned in district court and charged with one count of controlled substance – conspiracy to deliver/manufacture meth, a 20-year felony. Their preliminary hearings are scheduled for July 6 in district court.

Conner remains lodged in jail in lieu of a $250,000 cash or surety bond. Doutree remains lodged in jail in lieu of a $200,000 cash or surety bond. They were ordered to have no contact with one another.

The vehicle stop also lead police to a meth lab at another location, according to Gladstone Public Safety which was assisted by the Michigan State Police Gladstone Post and the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team.
