Man sentenced for breaking and entering
ESCANABA — A suspect who was arrested for breaking into a garage in Masonville Township after a trail camera recorded the crime, will be sentenced in Delta County Circuit Court in February.
Jason Allen Tyner, 25, of Wetmore, was originally charged with one count of breaking and entering a building with intent, a 10-year felony, and one count of larceny in a building, a four-year felony after a trail camera recorded him at the scene of a break-in on Y Road in Rapid River on Aug. 21, 2016.
During a hearing in circuit court last week, he pleaded guilty to attempted breaking and entering a building and will be sentenced on the five-year felony on Feb. 27.
In exchange for his guilty plea, the prosecution agreed to dismiss the other two charges along with an habitual offense notice.
Tyner remains lodged in the county jail in lieu of 10 percent of a $2,500 bond.
