Diabetes Prevention Program in Jan. 15

ESCANABA — Are you at risk for developing diabetes? Have you been told you have prediabetes, a borderline high blood sugar, or a history of gestational diabetes? If so, the National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP) may interest you.

NDPP is an evidence-based lifestyle change program for people with prediabetes or at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes, proven to help people lose weight and prevent or delay onset of type 2 diabetes by 58 percent.

A new class starts Jan. 15 at the Public Health Department in Escanaba. The program is free to the public.

Classes are Tuesdays, Jan. 15th – April 30t from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Bi-weekly/monthly meetings will follow from May to December.
