Clarissa Kell | Daily Press

Throughout October members of the Foster Grandparent Program, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, Senior Companion Volunteer Program and the VFW Auxiliary 4420 of Manistique collected food and money donations for the Salvation Army as part of the groups efforts in “Make a Difference Day.” “Make a Difference Day” was Oct. 27 and is a national day of community service. From left, Peggie Ramsden, the Foster Grandparent Program director; Gayle Stoykovich, donating for the VFW Auxiliary 4420 of Manistique; Lori Giuliani, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program director; and Connie Maule, Senior Companion Volunteer Program director present the check and nonperishable foods to Major Ralph Hansen of the Salvation Army. More food will be brought to the Salvation Army on Oct. 31. The three volunteer programs are sponsored by the local Community Action Agency, which covers Menominee, Delta and Schoolcraft counties.
