U.P. Service Dog Conference planned
ESCANABA — Yooper Service Dogs (YSD) is hosting an all day event for people with all kinds of disabilities that are considering a dog to assist them. Business owners, the media, and members of the public are welcome to attend.
The event is Saturday, Oct. 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bay College ‘s Joseph Heirman University Center, Room 952.
This event will feature speakers from Paws With A Cause, SuperiorLand Pet Partners, Leader Dogs for the Blind, Yooper Service Dogs, and the Superior Alliance for Independent Living (SAIL). YSD will also be leading a short class on the difference between service, emotional support, skilled companions, and therapy animals; and a class on how to navigate service animal law.
YSD’s service dog trainer will also be on hand to answer questions from people training their own service animals.
