Compassionate Friends meeting change

ESCANABA — Anyone who has had a child die in their family is invited to attend the Thursday, July 19 meeting of the Southern Upper Peninsula Chapter of the Compassionate Friends.

The meeting is held at 7 p.m. in the front Conference Room at the Escanaba High School.

Compassionate Friends is a nonprofit, self-help bereavement support organization for families that have experienced the death of a child. When a child dies, at any age, for any reason, the family suffers intense pain and may feel hopeless and isolated. The Compassionate Friends provides highly personal comfort, hope and support to every family experiencing the death of a son or daughter, a brother or sister, or a grandchild, and helps others better assist the grieving family.

An international organization, The Compassionate Friends has more than 650 chapters in the United States with locations in all 50 states plus Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C. The nearest chapter to Escanaba is in Green Bay.

The meetings in Escanaba are normally held on the fourth Thursday of each month except in November and December. Meetings are from 7 to 9 p.m. in the front Conference Room at Escanaba High School, located at 500 South Lincoln Road.

If you have lost a child, grandchild, or sibling, please join us on Thursday, July 19 at 7 p.m.
