Michigan’s Graduates students compete

ESCANABA — Darren J. Widder, an instructor for Escanaba High School’s Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates (EHS JMG) recently took students to compete in the ninth annual JMG Career Development Conference (CDC) in Lansing.

Over 250 JMG students took part in the statewide competition. The EHS JMG students took part in the “JMG Bowl” tournament and had the opportunity to showcase their employability skills they have been learning throughout the year.

The three-member team of Michael McGaffigan, Jeremiah Herp and Coby Bourque captured a third place finish. “More than their third place finish”, Widder said, “I am proudest that they were the only team to get a shout-out for sportsmanship for initiating handshakes with opponents, win or lose.”
