Free chronic pain workshop to be offered

ESCANABA — A free chronic pain management workshop will be offered in May 2018 at the MTEC center, room to be determined. The chronic pain management workshop is a six week workshop designed to provide the skills and tools needed to help people living with chronic pain or loved ones caring for one with pain to learn the skills they need to manage their symptoms. People find they are better equipped to face the daily challenge of their health. Two trained leaders conduct the workshop. Subjects covered include: lack of energy, sleep problems, depression, fatigue, pain, staying active, medication and much more.

The six week class will meet on Thursday mornings starting at 10:30 a.m. at the

MTEC center starting in May. Class sizes are limited and pre-registration is required- family and caregivers are welcome to sign up. If you are a loved one to someone with chronic pain you are welcome to attend this workshop. There is no cost to attend. Call the YMCA to register at 906-789-0005. Program administered by UPCAP, with support from the Northern Lights YMCA.
