Community Foundation awards grants
ESCANABA — Community Foundation for Delta County Grants Chair Will Carne, Sr. announced the recipients of the foundations first grant round of 2018. Those receiving a community foundation grant are: Delta County Sheriff Dive Rescue Team (equipment purchase); Escanaba Township Fire Department (gear replacement); Escanaba High School Key Club (Key Club District Convention); Esky Clean-Up (clean-up equipment purchase); Fraternal Order of Eagle Aerie 1088 (repair of roof); Gladstone Area Schools (Junior High-Michigan Outdoor Safety); Holy Name Catholic School (Early Childhood Music and Dance); Maple Ridge Township (kitchen renovation); Mid-Peninsula School (brackets and handrails for school bleachers); a direct gift to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
“Our grants committee is pleased with the high quality of the grant requests we receive and wish we could approve every request that comes before us. Unfortunately, funds available are not unlimited and therefore we cannot fund every request,” said Carne
“The sole purpose of any community foundation is to take-in funds from donors, invest the money prudently and utilize the growth in those funds to make grants to improve life for area residents,”said Community Foundation for Delta County Board Chair David Williams.
