Help Make Spirits Bright fundraiser

Five local businesses raised $1,800 for the annual Help Make Spirits Bright fundraiser, which was sponsored by the Delta County Department of Health and Human Services Community Resource Program. The fundraiser was a success due to the enthusiastic efforts of the businesses, their employees and their generous customers who made a donation for colorful, paper ornaments. Participants were The Family Inn, 41 Lumber, U.P. State Credit Union, White’s Grocery and Drifters. Top fundraiser was White’s Grocery, with a total of $1,280. Pictured, from left are employees Tina Garbe and Lynn Cole. The proceeds along with a donation from the Edward J. Sackerson Charitable Foundation provided Christmas gifts for 78 local needy children and disabled, elderly adults. Agency staff and recipients thank all who supported this fundraiser and helped brighten the spirits of some of our less fortunate neighbors.
