Esky library to make Skype connections

ESCANABA — Do your loved ones live far, far away? The Escanaba Public Library would like to make a connection for you on Valentine’s Day, Wednesday, Feb. 14, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. using the videoconferencing service Skype.

The library will supply all the technology, the meeting space and expert assistance for the experience in Escanaba and will be taking reservations for 30 minute time slots. Families of four to five can be accommodated and you must be 18 years or older to make an appointment. The person being contacted will need a device such as a computer/laptop, tablet or phone with the Skype software installed and an account set up prior to the event.

Skype is a free software application which uses the Internet and allows people to meet online in real time using video and voice technologies, eliminating restrictions of time and distance.

This is a free event and the public is invited to call and make an appointment.

The Escanaba Public Library is located at 400 Ludington St. in downtown Escanaba. For details about the events, call 906-789-7333 or visit the library’s website online calendar at or Facebook and Twitter.
