Part of 12th Avenue South closed today
ESCANABA — The 2200 block of 12th Avenue South will be closed to all traffic today and is expected to re-open by end of business today. The closure is for repairs due to a water main break.
Some residents within a five block radius of the intersection of South 22nd Street and 12th Avenue South may experience a short interruption of their water service as the repair is conducted. Crews will go door to door in order to notify each resident if they will be affected, and leave a door hanger as a means of notification if you’re not home.
Once the repair is completed, some nearby residents may experience discolored water. The distribution crew will be flushing the main during this time. Residents should allow some time for the water to clear in the main, before attempting to flush their service line.
Motorists should allow extra time if traveling in this area.
