Bay Sages plan meeting on Dec. 7
ESCANABA — The next meeting of the Bay Sages will be held on Thursday, Dec. 7, at 10 a.m. at the Joseph Heirman University Center at Bay College.
The program will feature a presentation by Joe Kaplan, a local expert on migratory birds.
Kaplan has spoken to the Bay Sages before and had the participants spell bound with his vast knowledge of migratory birds, their habitat, nesting patterns and territorial changes, organizers said. Included in his repertoire are breath taking photos of birds. Devoted to this pursuit under the auspices of the organization, Common Coast, Kaplan is dedicated to research conservation.
The meeting will also feature a Christmas carol sing-along led by George and Marie Peterson of Escanaba, as well as a Christmas luncheon. There is a fee for attending. Reservations must be made in advance by Nov. 30 to Rita Parrotta at 399-0027.
Members and guests are welcome to attend meetings of the Bay Sages, which is an organization dedicated to promoting lifelong learning opportunities for older adults. The membership fee for the organization includes 11 monthly meetings, two of which are luncheon meetings, and monthly newsletters.
