Field Day August 2 at Guindon Farms
CORNELL — The Upper Peninsula Research and Extension Center along with Michigan State University Extension are conducting research trials in organic small grain production to identify challenges and opportunities in the Upper Peninsula. On Aug. 2, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. come visit Guindon Farms at 9111 County 416 H Road in Cornell and tour the MSUE organic grain research plot.
Guests of the field day will learn about underseeding rates and mixtures and see how well they are suppressing weeds. Matt and Barb Guindon will be there to share first-hand knowledge of producing organic beef products in the Upper Peninsula.
Refreshments and snacks will be provided. The Organic Farming Research Foundation has funded this research.
