Recreation board seeks pathway grant
ESCANABA — A variety of on-going projects were discussed at the Escanaba Recreation Advisory Board meeting held at the civic center on Wednesday.
Recreation Director Kim Peterson said the group continues to seek grants to fund a non-motorized pathway on the north side of the city.
Discussion took place on creating a single ice rink at the civic center rather than the Royce and Webster ice rinks. The board will also look into the possibility of creating a refrigerated ice rink at Ludington Park, said Peterson.
One of two properties at the airport are now being considered as a possible location for a dog park within the city if outside funding becomes available for the project, she said.
Peterson said the group also discussed plans for the Rock the Dock event taking place at the municipal dock on July 3 including bands, a fish pond, kids activities, and food vendors.
