Credit union awards scholarships
Great Lakes First Federal Credit Union is pleased to award three $500 scholarships to current and future college students Tyler Labadie, Emily Johnson, and Erin Quinn. Above, Wayne Johnson, president, and Sarah Slagstad, senior vice president, stand with scholarship recipients, from left,Tyler Labadie, Emily Johnson, and Erin Quinn. “We love to see our student-members pursue their dreams and education,” says Wayne Johnson, President of GLFFCU. “We are proud to contribute to their future endeavors.” Labadie, of Bark River High School, will attend Bay College with plans to transfer to Central Michigan University or Grand Valley State University to pursue Exercise Science. Johnson, also of Bark River, is attending Bay College where she currently studies Nursing with plans to transfer to Lake Superior State University. Quinn, of Gladstone High School, will be attending Northern Michigan University to study Pre-Radiology. Each spring, Great Lakes First Federal Credit Union awards scholarships to students who are enrolled in an academic program for the upcoming year.
