Rep. LaFave announces office staff hires
LANSING — State Rep. Beau LaFave announced the hire of Joe Aragona as legislative director and Sam Olsen as legislative assistant in his Lansing office.
Aragona brings four years of legislative experience, having served previously for former state Rep. Anthony Forlini. During his time in Lansing, Aragona has helped advance several pieces of legislation. He also earned the 2015 staffer of the year award presented by the Michigan Credit Union League.
“Joe brings valuable experience and will be a great asset as we advocate for the interests of our community,” said Rep. LaFave, R-Iron Mountain.
Olsen graduated from Michigan State University in 2016 with a degree in political theory and constitutional democracy. He previously interned for former Majority Floor Leader Rep. Aric Nesbitt, R-Lawton. As LaFave’s legislative assistant he will aid in constituent communication, scheduling and analytical support for political decision-making.
“Sam is a great addition to the team,” LaFave said. “He is eager to learn and has experience with many of the tasks he’ll be taking on in this role.”
Rep. LaFave was sworn in by Lt. Gov. Brian Calley at the Dickinson County Courthouse. His office is now open to serve the people of Delta, Dickinson and Menominee counties and can be contacted at (517) 373-0156 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
LaFave says he is most passionate about energy reform, insurance reform and education credits for skilled trades.
