Training set for shelter volunteers

GLADSTONE — The next training for homeless shelter volunteers is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, at Grace Church at North M-35, Gladstone. The training is geared for new volunteers, but those wanting a refresher or to learn more about the shelter are welcome. The trainings last about 75 minutes — no pre-registration needed. Attendees will learn about the shelter concept and specific duties for each shift.

Volunteers are needed to provide an evening meal, and staff three shelter shifts each day from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m., 10:30 p.m. to 3 a.m., and 3 to 8 a.m. each day. The location rotates weekly among 12 churches.

Check the website www.HopeAtTheInn.org for the current shelter and training schedule. Trained volunteers may sign up online at the host churches or email HopeAtTheInnDelta@gmail.com.
