MCDC hires Horton for Marquette office

Todd Horton

MARQUETTE — Michigan Certified Development Corporation (MCDC) President Mark Williams announces the hiring of Todd Horton to open the new Marquette office, the first in the Upper Peninsula for MCDC.

Horton comes to MCDC from River Valley Bank where he was vice president in the Business Banking Group. He received his bachelor’s degree from Northern Michigan University in Business Administration and Management. Horton will work as a senior loan officer, handling 504 loans across the U.P. and growing MCDC’s 7(a) Lender Service Provider division.

“I am excited that MCDC is expanding our presence in the U.P. Todd is an ideal fit for MCDC and a tremendous gain for businesses in the U.P. Todd’s commercial lending background through his time with Northern Initiatives and most recently at River Valley Bank make him the ideal candidate to open this new territory for MCDC. As the largest 504 lender in the state and one of the largest in the country, MCDC is thrilled to increase the availability of capital to Michigan’s small businesses and to support the SBA’s mission to increase lending in rural markets,” Williams said.
