Column: Fire & Ice offers connections

ESCANABA — You’ve worked hard all year and now it’s time to reward yourself with some fun and a well-deserved break by attending the first and finest social event in 2018, the Delta County Chamber’s Fire & Ice Fundraising Gala. Set on the backdrop of icy Little Bay de Noc this year’s event, presented by OSF HealthCare St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group, will turn up the heat with an evening full of great food, prizes and entertainment.

Fire and Ice attracts nearly 300 guests who are there to have a good time and to socialize with friends and colleagues at the Chamber’s premier black-tie fundraiser. At the same time, they will be making important business contacts and gaining visibility for their companies.

Successful business owners know that often who you know is as important as what you know. The Chamber provides endless opportunities, such as Fire & Ice, to meet other members of the community, promote your business and develop long-term relationships. Every Chamber event, including Fire & Ice, is a networking event.

In a perfect world, sales calls, proposals and networking wouldn’t be necessary because customers would be lined up at our doors. However, until that time comes, consider attending Fire & Ice 2018 and build those important relationships with friends and potential customers.

The Chamber special events committee works hard each year to guarantee an enjoyable night of friendship and fun. They believe a great menu paired with fabulous prizes and live music is a must! After guests enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by Freshwater Tavern they will dance the night away in the Terrace Ballroom to the musical stylings of It Takes Two.

We are extremely grateful to all who contribute their valuable resources and prizes to this gala event. Before the night ends, more than $25,000 in prizes, all donated by very generous Chamber members, will be awarded to our guests

We take this opportunity to thank our contributors and guests, primarily local business leaders — our dedicated members — who consistently take time out of their busy schedules to attend and support the many events and activities sponsored by the Chamber – events that provide the perfect venue to mix business with fun!
