EMP honored, new business awarded
ESCANABA — Caterpillar Inc. announced that Engineered Machined Products (EMP) of Escanaba has been awarded the Caterpillar Platinum Certification, and new precision machining business.
In making the announcement, Ernie Reyes, operations manager – engine and transmission procurement at Caterpillar, Inc., informed a meeting of EMP employees that ”I am pleased to represent Caterpillar in honoring the employees of EMP, and to recognize the performance of the EMP Team in achieving Caterpillar’s Platinum Certification.”
“This achievement represents Caterpillar’s highest global supplier rating for outstanding supplier quality, and the EMP team has earned and is deserving of this prestigious designation,” he added. To achieve the platinum status, a supplier must ship zero defective parts (PPM) over a 12-month period.
In conjunction with presenting Caterpillar’s Platinum Certification to EMP, Reyes added, “We are also pleased to announce that Caterpillar has agreed to award EMP a significant amount of new diesel engine water pump business and, more importantly, this initiative is effective immediately.”
Accepting the award for EMP was Tammy Wolfe-Beauchamp, vice president of account management.

Being recognized by Caterpillar with the Platinum Certification and this substantial new business award validates the EMP Team commitment to providing Caterpillar with outstanding quality, defect-free products, on-time delivery, and continuous improvement in all aspects of our operations,” Wolfe-Beauchamp said.
