U.P. Labor-Management Council meeting
HARRIS — The U.P. Labor-Management Council, Inc. has selected the Island Resort & Casino, as the host site for its 2017 Annual Conference. The Annual Conference, entitled “Back to Basics,” has been scheduled for Thursday, March 2.
The one-day conference will feature several educational seminars for participants. Suzanne K. Clark, MEA Staff Attorney, will kick off the conference presenting “FMLA Refresher” to the full audience. The second general session is “Unconscious Bias in the Workplace” presented by Javier Ramirez, F.M.C.S. Breakout sessions include “Arbitration Basics & Past Practice” presented by Arbitrator Kathryn VanDagens, Lansing. “Bargaining Basics” will be presented by Shela Khan Monroe, attorney at law. The final breakout session presented by Kate Kellner, Social Security Administration, will be “A Piece in the Puzzle of Retirement: Social Security Basics.” All three breakout sessions will be offered twice in the afternoon. The final session for the 2017 Annual Conference will be “TMI: The Dos and Don’ts of Technology in the Workplace” presented by Laura Katers Reilly & Pat Greeley, Kendricks, Bourdeau, Adamini, Greenlee & Keefe, P.C.
