Delta County residents enlist in U.S. Army

ESCANABA — The United States Army has announced the enlistment of three Delta County residents. These residents include:

— Treston K. Sexton, who will be a 2019 graduate of Escanaba High School and is the son of Corene H. Muehlhaus of Escanaba. PVT Sexton enlisted for four years and will serve as an automated logistics specialist. He will attend basic combat training at Ft. Jackson, S.C. and advanced individual training at Ft Lee, Va. He will receive a cash bonus of $15,000 and the post 9/11 GI bill to further his education after his service.

— Makenzye R. Bruce, who will be a 2019 graduate of Escanaba High School and is the daughter of Diana and Dennis Fournier of Wells.

She has enlisted as a combat engineer and will serve for thee years. She will attend basic combat training and advanced individual training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. She will receive the post 9/11 GI bill to further her education after her service.

— Danica R. Mackie, who will be a 2019 graduate of Escanaba High School and is the daughter of Barbara Norlander of Kingsford.

PVT Mackie enlisted for 3 years and will serve as an intelligence analyst. She will attend basic combat training at Ft. Sill, Okla. and advanced individual training at Ft. Huachuca, Ariz. She will receive the post 9/11 GI bill to further her education after her ­service.
