IXL Historical Museum Christmas party Dec. 5

Haircuts for Abbie today

ESCANABA — Reflections Hair Salon, located at 1101 Ludington Street, will be hosting a fundraiser haircuts on Nov. 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All proceeds from the haircuts will be donated to Abbie Silverstone, who is currently battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma. AAUW meeting with Dr. Casey Sager set

ESCANABA — On Thursday, Nov. 29, American Association of University Women (AAUW) members and guests will meet at St. Stephen’s Church in Canterbury Hall at 6:30 p.m. for a gathering that will include a presentation by Dr. Casey Sager.

Sager is affiliated with OSF St Francis Women’s Center. Specializing in obstetrics and gynecology, she received her medical degree from Michigan State University. She completed her internship and residency at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. She will be speaking on issues of women’s health and wellness.

Coffee and dessert will be served. Anyone planning to attend is asked to call 906-786-3415 by Nov. 25.

Taco Tuesday at American Legion

GLADSTONE — The American Legion Post 71, located at 802 Delta Avenue in Gladstone, will be having Taco Tuesday from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday.

St. Anthony and St. Thomas bazaar

ESCANABA — The St. Anthony and St. Thomas Annual Christmas Dinner and Bazaar will take place Sunday, Dec. 2, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Thomas Parish Hall, 1820 9th Ave. N. in Escanaba. Serving will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children 5 and under are free with an adult. Takeout is available.

The event will also feature a bake sale, silent auction, raffles, 50/50, silver dollar, and craft sale. All are welcome.

Annual Christmas ­cookie sale Dec. 8

ESCANABA — First Presbyterian Church, 819 1st Ave. South, Escanaba, will have its annual Christmas cookie sale on Saturday, Dec. 8 beginning at 10 a.m.

All kinds of cookies, homemade, fancy, old-fashioned and decorated, will be for sale by the pound.

Kiwanis Club holds meeting Wednesday

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone-Rapid River Kiwanis Club holds weekly meetings every Wednesday at 7 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church, 1212 Minneapolis Ave., Gladstone. Plan to attend a meeting and hear about ongoing activities in support of community kids.
