NAMI meeting with speaker Sept. 24

MARQUETTE — The National Alliance on Mental Illness-Alger/Marquette offers free, confidential support groups and educational meetings for individuals living with mental illness, and friends or families living with an individual with mental illness.

An educational meeting will be held Monday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. Paula Ross, wife, mother and nurse, will share her experience with depression, anxiety and PTSD. Paula struggled with depression and anxiety and the effects of childhood sexual abuse most of her life, and medication for a back injury at the age of 12 started her addiction to drugs. Paula accepted her depressed state for many years, but got sober and straight almost 40 years ago. Her story is an inspiration to us all.
