Wells Lions 52 club ­raffle winner announced

WELLS — The winner of the Wells Lions Club raffle for the week of Sept. 3 is Tim Boucher of Escanaba. Boucher won $100. This was week 5 of the raffle.

Harvest Auction tonight

Escanaba – The Salvation Army Home League (Women’s Ministries Group) will be holding their annual Harvest Auction on Wednesday, Sept. 5.

Supper will be served beginning at 6 p.m. for a small fee. The auction will begin at 7 p.m. and items will be available for review at 6 p.m.

Some of the items which are normally available at the auction include fresh produce, baked goods, miscellaneous household goods items, and men’s, women’s, and children’s gift baskets.

The auction will take place at The Salvation Army, 3001 5th Ave. S. in Escanaba. Additional information can be obtained by calling the Salvation Army office at 906-786-0590.

Proceeds from the auction help support the work of the Home League Program, which has included support for The Salvation Army Friendship Kitchen feeding program and Hope At The Inn.

Class of 1963 lunch

ESCANABA — The gals of the Escanaba High School Class of 1963 will be holding a monthly noon ladies’ lunch the second Wednesday of every month at the Family Inn Restaurant. Lecture series at East Ludington Gallery

ESCANABA — The East Ludington Gallery, 1007 Ludington St. Escanaba, will be having a lecture series the third Thursday of every month.

This month will be Beth Cox presenting “How Glass Paperweights are Made.”

It will be on Sept. 20 from 7 to 8 p.m. and it is open to the public free of charge.

Delta Coin Club to meet

GLADSTONE — The next meeting of the Delta Coin Club is set for Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. The club meets every second Tuesday at 817 Delta Ave. Gladstone.

Delta County MARSP sets monthly meeting

HARRIS — The Delta County chapter of MARSP will hold its September meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at noon (eastern time) at the Island Resort and Casino.

Shannon Taylor, executive director of Hope at the Inn, will present the program.

There is a charge for the luncheon.

Reservations for those not on the calling list may be made by calling 906-786-7748 or 906-399-0280 no later than 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6. Cancellations may be made by calling those same numbers no later than Sunday, Sept. 9, by 9 p.m.

Breakfast in Rapid River

RAPID RIVER — Rapid River American Legion Post 301 will hold its second Sunday “All You Can Eat” breakfast on Sunday, Sept. 9 from 8 a.m. to noon at the post’s hall. The breakfast is dedicated to the U.P. Honor Flight.

Salvation Army social services available

ESCANABA — Social service assistance from the Salvation Army is available 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday in the Community Services Building.

The Soup Kitchen is open noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
