ESCANABA — The Esky Pops is an all-volunteer singing and instrumental group that performs contemporary music in Escanaba. The group is always looking for new members ages 16 and up to join the fun. There are no auditions needed to join the group, and although a musical background is helpful, it is not required. Rehearsals for The Esky Pops are once a week on Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Central United Methodist Church: 322 S. Lincoln Rd. Escanaba.

The fall semester of The Esky Pops will begin rehearsals on Thursday, Aug. 30. The group will accept new members through Sept. 13, but encourages interested participants to contact them via email at theeskypops@gmail.com or on via the group’s Facebook page. Some of the featured songs the group will be singing this semester are: “The Sound of Silence” by Simon and Garfunkel, “Don’t Stop” by Fleetwood Mac, “Dream On” by Aerosmith, “Never Enough” from the soundtrack of The Greatest Showman, as well as a musical medley from the hit TV show “Glee.”
