Escanaba River Legion meeting set for Sept. 5

FLAT ROCK — The regular monthly meeting of the Escanaba River American Legion Post 115 and the auxiliary will be held at the Escanaba Township Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5.

Right to Life to meet

ESCANABA — Right to Life of Delta County will meet Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. in room 261 of the Joseph Heirman University Center at Bay College. American Legion sets ­meeting in Gladstone

GLADSTONE — American Legion Post 71, located at 802 Delta Ave. in Gladstone, will hold its regular meeting Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. The executive board will meet at 6:15 p.m.

Menominee County MARSP sets meeting

MENOMINEE — The Menominee County Chapter of Retired School Personnel (MARSP), will meet on Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Little Nugget Clubhouse on East County Rd. 338 in Carbondale. Registration will begin at 11 a.m. Central time, and lunch will be served at noon Central time. There is a cost for the lunch.

The program for the day will be presented by Pastor Dave Pennell. Pennell will present a virtual tour of the Abundant Life Homeless Shelter. Members are encouraged to bring a paper product, cleaning product or new bed pillow for donation to the shelter. A business meeting will follow the program. Shane Goodchild benefit

ESCANABA — There will be a benefit held on Sept. 22 at Crazy Joe’s Pool Hall for Shane Goodchild.

The benefit will be held from 4 p.m. until closing. There will be door prizes, bucket raffles, 50/50 drawings and music. Food is included with the admission fee.

Delta Coin Club meeting

GLADSTONE — The next meeting of the Delta Coin Club is set for Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. The club meets every second Tuesday at 817 Delta Ave., Gladstone. 71st Fall Festival

TRENARY — St. Rita Parish in Trenary will hold its annual Fall Festival on the parish grounds on Sunday, Sept. 9. A harvest dinner featuring turkey with all the trimmings will be served from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the parish hall. There is a fee for the dinner but children under five eat free. Take-out dinners will be available.

Special games for young and old alike will be featured on the grounds, including bingo. There will be a silver dollar game, craft and baked goods booths, a refreshment stand and music by Mary Lynn and Doug. The raffle drawing will be held at 4 p.m.

Everyone is welcome. Please note that Sunday Mass will be celebrated at 11:15 a.m., on Sept. 9.
