Old-time Radio Variety Hour tonight in Esky
ESCANABA — The Escanaba Seventh Day Adventist Church, located at 210 South Lincoln Road in Escanaba, will be featuring an old-time radio variety hour on Aug. 11 at 6 p.m.
The Strong Tower Radio Quartet and other local talent, including students from surrounding area schools, will be preforming.
Dance in Rock Sunday
ROCK — A dance will be held at the Rock Community/Senior Center, located at 3892 W. Maple Ridge Road, on Sunday, Aug. 12 from 1 to 5 p.m. Come enjoy the music of Angels & Outlaws.
There is a fee for the dance and a free will donation lunch will be provided.

ESCANABA — The Community Service Center food pantry adjacent to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Escanaba is open from 1 to 4 p.m. on Monday and Saturday.

VBS planned at Rapid River Congregational
RAPID RIVER — The Rapid River Congregational Church will hold its vacation Bible school Aug. 20-24, from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. each evening. The theme of this years school is “The Gloryland Express.” It will feature stories, games, food, and crafts.

USS Iwo Jima reunion
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — There will be a reunion of USS Iwo Jima (LPH2/LHD7) shipmates for all ships company and Embarked Navy and Marine Corps personnel who were on board the LPH2 or LHD7. The reunion will be held at the Doubletree Hotel Jacksonville Riverfront, Jacksonville Fla. on Oct. 10-13.

East Ludington Gallery lecture series continues
ESCANABA — The East Ludington Gallery, located at 1007 Ludington Street in Escanaba, is having a lecture series with lectures on the third Thursday of every month.
The next lecture will take place on on Aug. 16 from 7 to 8 p.m. This lecture will be “Working with Copper” presented by Steve Messimer. The talk will discuss the characteristics of copper work, tools, and more. It is open to the public free of charge.
