Scouts plan bottle drive to support troop

ESCANABA — Boy Scout Troop 411 of Escanaba will again conduct a bottle and can drive as a fundraiser on Saturday, July 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to support troop functions. Scouts and leaders will be in uniform and collecting your bottles and cans at Elmer’s County Market, Sav-Mor, and at Wal-Mart. All of the funds raised at the bottle and can drive stay here in Escanaba with the troop and the area boys.

The drive, along with the annual popcorn sale, are the major funding sources for the troop. The funds help the troop provide a quality program to the boys, and help fund events like going to Camp Hiawatha, Mackinac Island Service Camp, National Youth Leadership Training, and Capital Trip for Merit Badge, and many more.

Area residents are asked to start saving up their returnables to help support the area Boy Scouts. In case you don’t have any cans, the Scouts will also have a donation can available. The boys of Troop 411 want to thank you for your continued support of scouting. Any questions about the drive, or if you want a big bag of cans picked up, please contact Troop 411 Treasurer Betty Williams at williamsbetty82@gmail.com or (906) 280-0717.
