Rapid River Legion hosts breakfast June 10

RAPID RIVER — Come in to celebrate Flag Day at the 2nd Sunday ‘All-You-Can Eat’ Breakfast at the Rapid River Legion Post 301 Hall Sunday, June 10. There is a fee for the breakfast, but children age four and under eat free.

Kennel Club sets June monthly meeting date

ESCANABA — The Bay de Noc Kennel Club will hold its next general meeting on Thursday, June 14 at 7 p.m. at the Kennel Club Building at 6687 N.75 Dr. in Escanaba (just north of the Wells Sports Complex, next to the baseball field). The public is welcome to attend.

Perkins School all-class reunion planned for July

PERKINS — An all-class reunion will be held on July 14 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Perkins Lions Club. The reunion is for anyone who attended school in Perkins.

Please bring a dish to pass and what ever beverage you would like to drink. Silverware and plates will be provided.

Coin Club meets Monday at Bay College

ESCANABA — The next meeting for the Bay de Noc Stamp and Coin Club is Monday, June 11 at 5 p.m. The meeting is held in the Joseph Heirman University Center, room 961 at Bay College. The public is always invited to attend.

The club is always looking for new members. If anyone has coins or stamps needing to be appraised, come to the meetings.

Funday Sunday Benefit Concert: U.P. Gumbo

BARK RIVER –The fFirst program in the summer benefit concert series — now in its third year at Northern Sun Vineyard — supports Honor Flight programs and will take place June 17.

Marquette group U.P. Gumbo will present zydeco and New Orleans-style music. The concert will occur rain or shine.

Bring lawn chairs or blankets. Picnic lunches and snacks encouraged, but no carry-in alcoholic beverages are allowed.

Wine tastings will take place all afternoon, with a free vineyard tour at 3 p.m. Tickets with wine tasting coupons are available in advance at a reduced rate at the winery and the Delta County Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are also available the day of the concert.

Northern Sun Vineyard is located south of Bark River. Follow Pure Michigan directional signs from U.S. 2 and vineyard signs along D Road (South Bark River Road).

Other summer concerts in the series include Genna and Jesse on July 15 and Kitty Donohoe on Aug. 19.

Menominee MARSP to meet on June 12

MENOMINEE — The Menominee County chapter of Michigan Retired School Personnel (MARSP) will meet on Tuesday, June 12, at the American Legion Hall on River Road in Stephenson. Registration is at 11 a.m. CDT, with the luncheon served at noon.

The chapter memorial service will be held to honor and remember deceased Menominee County chapter members who died during the past year. The program will be about container gardening presented by Penny Mullins from Penny’s Plants and Pots.
