Benefit for Cindy Stock

GLADSTONE — There will be a spaghetti feed benefit for Cindy Stock on Saturday, June 2 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m at the Gladstone American Legion, located at 802 Delta Ave. Cindy is a retired school teacher from Gladstone Area Schools. She has been in and out of the hospital since January in Arizona.

Stock was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome. This condition causes her immune system to attack her nervous system. Currently, she has been in the hospital for the past two months, and is unable to walk.

Along with the Guillain-Barre syndrome, doctors have found lesions on her brain, and a cancerous tumor on her kidney.

Friends and family are hosting the benefit dinner to help offset medical expenses.

There is a door charge for the benefit and dinner, but children five and under get in free. The event will also include bucket raffles, 50/50 raffles, a silent auction, and bake sale.

Monetary donations can also be made at Great Lakes First Federal Credit Union, under Cindy Stock Benefit.
