Local residents graduate from LSSU
ESCANABA — Six area residents have successfully completed their requirements for a bachelor’s degree and graduated following the Fall 2017 semester from Lake Superior State University (LSSU). Graduates are eligible to walk at commencement in May.
Graduating with a bachelor’s of science degree in business administration-management is Michael Bayerl of Menominee and Jerri DeMenter of Rapid River. DeMenter also earned a marketing minor. In criminal justice, graduates included Jacob Koish of Escanaba and Katlyn Sagataw of Houghton. In early childhood education, Amelia Schaefer, of Escanaba, graduated with a sociology minor. Christopher Parker of Gladstone graduated with a
General Studies with business and behavioral science concentrations.
DeMenter graduates Summa Cum Laude, earning a 3.90-4.00 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.00 scale; Bayerl and Schaefer graduate Magna Cum Laude, earning a 3.70-3.89 GPA; Koish graduates Cum Laude, earning a 3.5-3.69 GPA.
“I am so proud to say that I received my degree from LSSU, and I have nothing but great words to say about my experiences along the way,” Schaefer stated. Parker also commented, “I am very fortunate that LSSU offered a regional program through the Bay College campus. I was provided access to further my education precisely when I needed it. I am also grateful for the efforts of Instructor Greg Bekes as he inspired me to put real work into my courses.”
