Kennel Club to hold monthly meeting tonight

ESCANABA — The Bay de Noc Kennel Club will hold its next general meeting on Thursday, March 8 at 7 p.m. at the Kennel Club Building at 6687 N.75 Dr. Escanaba (just north of the Hannahville Ice and Turf Complex, next to the baseball field). The public is welcome to attend.

Beginner Nosework class begins April 4. This class teaches dogs and handlers how to find a particular scent. Please see the club’s website for this class and other classes beginning in March and April at www.baydenockennelclub.com.

Escanaba Free Lutheran Church sets activities

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Free Lutheran Church, member AFLC, will begin services with Sunday school for all ages at 9:30 a.m. Members gather in the church sanctuary for praise songs then separate into classes in the lower level of the church.

There will be a Bible study held on Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. Study is in the book of Revelation.

Free gardening series on growing food

MARQUETTE — A free gardening series continues on Thursday, March, 15th at 6:30 p.m. at the Marquette Missionary Church at 1804 Wright St., in Marquette. The “Growing Your Food in the U.P.” gardening series is open to everyone.

This session, entitled, “Playin’ It Safe With Your Garden Produce” will be co-presented by Farmers Market Stalwarts, Treasa Sowa and Mary Kramer-Rabine. Treasa and Mary will share innovative tips and techniques home gardeners can use to safely harvest and prepare their garden produce. The series is sponsored by Transition Marquette County.

Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church events

ESCANABA — The following are events are being held by Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Escanaba:

Lutheran Girl Pioneers meet from 3 to 5 p.m. at Christian Park Village to do Easter crafts with the residents.

On Tuesday, March 13 Bible class meets at 10 a.m.

Catechism class will be held from 4:30 to 5:40 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14. Soup and sandwich supper begins at 5:30 p.m. with Lent worship 6:30 p.m.

Bay de Noc Stamp and Coin Club to meet

ESCANABA — The next meeting of the Bay de Noc Stamp and Coin Club will take place Monday, March 12 a 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Joseph Heirman Building, room 961 at Bay College. The public is always welcome and the club is always looking for new members.

Bethany Lutheran announces activities

ESCANABA — Bethany Lutheran in Escanaba will be hosting a variety of activities for the week. On Monday, Bible study is at 9 a.m. The church council will hold a meeting at 6:30 p.m.

Zumba Gold exercise class will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday in the education building. Bethany Gems Circle will meet in the fellowship hall at 1 p.m. Karen Peterson is the hostess. The Bay de Noc Choral Society practice will be held at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary.

Quilting is at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the fellowship hall.

On Friday, coffee fellowship will be held at 10 a.m. in the education building.
