NAMI education meeting this Monday
MARQUETTE — The National Alliance on Mental Illness-Alger/Marquette offers confidential support groups and educational meetings for individuals living with mental illness, and friends or families living with an individual with mental illness.
An education meeting will be held Monday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. in the Baraga Place Conference Room, 129 West Baraga Avenue, Marquette. Doug Russell, executive director of Room At The Inn, will speak about the role mental illness plays in homelessness. People with mental illness are at greater risk of experiencing homelessness. Homelessness, in turn, amplifies poor mental health.
For more information call 906-360-7107, or visit www.namiam.org.
In case of bad weather, if NMU cancels evening classes, the NAMI meeting will also be cancelled.
Questions can be directed to Susan Maynard, vice president, NAMI-Alger/Marquette, 906-249-3598.
