Foster Grandparent ­

in-service this Tuesday

ESCANABA — The Delta County Foster Grandparent Program will be having an in-service meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 10 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Delta Plaza Mall Food Court, located at 301 N. Lincoln Road in Escanaba.

Auxiliary aids and services are available upon request to individuals with disabilities.

The Foster Grandparent Program is administered by MDS Community Action Agency, located at 507 First Avenue North in Escanaba.

Kennel Club meeting tomorrow at 7 p.m.

ESCANABA — The Bay de Noc Kennel Club will hold its next general meeting on Thursday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Kennel Club building at 6687 N.75 Dr. Escanaba just north of the Wells Sports Complex, next to the baseball field. The public is welcome to attend.

Rapid River Readers meets tomorrow

RAPID RIVER — Rapid Readers’ selections for February and March are “Bettyville,” by George Hedgman, and “The Giant’s House,” by Elizabeth McCraken.

The February meeting will include discussion of January’s book “Call the Nurse” by Mary J. MacLeod.

The group meets on the second Thursday of the month, weather permitting. Meetings take place at 10 a.m. at Jack’s Restaurant in Rapid River. New members are welcome.

Elks fish fries stopped

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Elks has discontinued serving Friday fish fries until further notice.

However, the Elks will continue with the Wednesday pub baskets, Friday card raffle, monthly steak nights and, of course, Sunday brunch. The next brunch will be Feb. 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Elks 150th Anniversary Celebration will take place on Feb. 17 starting at 5 p.m. Food will be provided and this event is open to the public. Come down to celebrate the Elks, your Lodge, and all that Elkdom has to offer.

Legion Post 340 to meet Thursday

The Floriano-Stecker-Kelly Post 340 of Hermansville will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, Feb. 8 at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Club Rooms in Hermansville.

Yooper reunion March 11 in Palmetto, Fla.

Bay de Noc Stamp and Coin Club sets meeting

ESCANABA — The next meeting for the Bay de Noc Stamp and Coin Club will be Monday, Feb. 12 at 6: 30 p.m. The meeting is held in the Joseph Heirmann University Center building room 961 at Bay College in Escanaba.

Country Express band performs Friday

ESCANABA –The Country Express band is scheduled to perform live Friday, Feb. 9 at the AMVETS Hall in Escanaba from 7 to 11 p.m. A donation will be accepted at the door. All are welcome.
