Democratic Party to hold meeting Feb. 7
ESCANABA — The Delta County Democratic Party will hold its monthly meeting on the first Wednesday of the month at USW Union Hall, 1201 Sheridan Rd., Escanaba. Social is at 6:30 p.m., with the meeting to follow at 7 p.m.
Elks fish fries stopped until further notice
ESCANABA — The Escanaba Elks has discontinued serving Friday fish fries until further notice.
However, the Elks will continue with the Wednesday pub baskets, Friday card raffle, monthly steak nights and, of course, Sunday brunch. The next brunch will be Feb. 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Elks 150th Anniversary Celebration will take place on Feb. 17 starting at 5 p.m. Food will be provided, and this event is open to the public. Come down to celebrate the Elks, your Lodge and all that Elkdom has to offer.
American Legion sets monthly meeting
RAPID RIVER — The Rapid River American Legion meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. The next meeting is Feb. 6.
AAUW plans annual ‘Book Night’ event
ESCANABA — The Escanaba Area Branch of AAUW (American Association of University Women) will hold its annual “Book Night” at the home of Kathleen Bennett on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 6:30 p.m. Members and guests are encouraged to bring a dessert and a book to discuss with the group.
Members/guests may also attend without bringing a book.

Mill retirees to hold Feburary meeting
ESCANABA — The Mill Retirees group will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at the Union Hall on Sheridan Road at 10 a.m. Refreshments will be provided and there will be a 50/50 drawing.
All mill retirees are invited to attend. The group meets the first Wednesday of every month.
