ESCANABA — Thanks to tremendous participation by friends and neighbors, Shoe Sensation’s Socks for Troops program collected 235 pairs of socks, for local veterans and troops overseas.

“The response from our community has been outstanding. Shoe Sensation is very proud of what our community and outlying area had contributed for such a worthy cause” said Shoe Sensation’s Store Manager Marge Derkos.

The Days River Lion’s Club will help distribute the socks that were collected in the Shoe Sensations store. They will be transferring the military socks to troops overseas and donating all the other socks to local veterans and their families.
