Lake State Bankers Association awards scholarships

ESCANABA — The Lake States Bankers Association (LSBAI) is thrilled to announce that Emily Gudwer of Rapid River and Ashley Lektzian of Escanaba, both have been awarded a monetary scholarship from the organization this winter.

Gudwer is studying pre-law at Northern Michigan University, and Lektzian is studying business finance at Bay College. Gudwer qualified for this scholarship as an employee of Burkhart, Lewandowski, Miller & Nastoff, P.C. Lektzian qualified for this scholarship as the daughter of Mark Lektzian, whom is executive vice-president at First Bank Upper Michigan.

LSBAI is a nonprofit corporation created in 1994 to promote professional development and social networking for bankers throughout the Upper Peninsula. LSABI awards scholarships annually to the children, spouses or employees of member LSBAI banks for continuing financial education and the field of finance. Both Burkhart, Lewandowski, Miller & Nastoff, P.C. and First Bank Upper Michigan are members of LSBAI.
