The Elks Ladies’ Aux. Board Meeting

ESCANABA — The Elks Ladies’ Aux. board meeting will be held Monday, Jan. 29, at 6 p.m. at the Elks Lodge. Interested members are welcome to attend.

Dress sale today at BR-H

HARRIS — The Bark River-Harris Leo Club will host a dress sale on Jan. 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST. There is an entry fee for the event and a flat fee for all dresses sold.

Dresses for the sale may be dropped off Jan. 19 from 4 to 6 p.m. or Jan. 20 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. All dresses must be picked up by 6 p.m. the day of the sale.

Relic Riders meeting Jan. 24 at Lion’s Club

RAPID RIVER –The Rapid River Relic Riders Snowmobile Club will meet on Wednesday Jan. 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Rapid River Lion’s Club located on Main Street in Rapid River to discuss plans for the upcoming Rapid River Relic RIders Show and Swap on Saturday, Jan. 27.

Christian Closet open for those in need Feb. 7

ESCANABA — Families and individuals in need will be welcome to visit the Christian Closet and select from an assortment of gently used clothing and shoes of all sizes, non-perishable food items, household supplies, and so much more. Everything will be available free of charge.

The Christian Closet is located at the Escanaba Church of Christ building located in Soo Hill at 5079 18th Road, Escanaba.

The closet will be open on the first Wednesday of every month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the next date being Wednesday, Feb. 7.

Immanuel Lutheran hosts annual breakfast

ESCANABA — The annual Lenten breakfast and musical program at Immanuel Lutheran Church, located at 600 South Lincoln Road in Escanaba, will be held Saturday, Feb. 3 from 9:15 a.m. with the program to follow at 10 a.m. The theme for this year’s program is “Listen, God is Calling.”

This year the musical program includes the Immanuel choir under the direction of Ray Miller and guest soloists. Favorite hymns will be sung by the congregation. Pastor Judy Kincaid will be giving the Lenten message.

Seating for the breakfast is limited to 200; program seating is unlimited. Please call for your breakfast reservation by Jan. 29 to 786-6771 or 233-1857. Nursery care will be provided upon request.

A free will donation for the breakfast and musical program will be received at the program. The Immanuel Lutheran Church Women will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Delta County Cancer Alliance.

Come to this annual community event and share fellowship during this Lenten season with food, music and message.
