Homeless shelter changes locations

GLADSTONE — All Saints Church, 715 Wisconsin Ave in Gladstone, will be the next host site for Delta County’s rotating homeless shelter beginning this Sunday evening, Jan. 14. The next New Volunteer training will be held Thursday, Jan. 18, 7 pm at Harbor Lights Church, 612 2nd Ave, So. in Escanaba. No pre-registration is needed.

Hope at the Inn operates from November through April each year. Donations are always needed and appreciated, and may be sent to HATI c/o The Salvation Army, PO Box 424, Escanaba, MI 49829, or call Mjr. Hansen at 786-0590.

Order of the Axe to hold meeting Jan. 21

RAPID RIVER — The Red Buck Order of the Axe will hold a meeting on Sunday, Jan. 21 at 4:30 p.m. Dinner will be at 5 p.m. at Jack’s Restaurant in Rapid River. The Axe will go over the upcoming Klondike Derby.

Daily activities planned at the senior center

HERMANSVILLE — The Hermansville Senior Center has various activities going on every week. Everyday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., walking is available, they also have a treadmill available. Morning coffee is also available everyday.

Every Tuesday and Friday, 15 games of bingo are played, starting at 12:45 p.m.

Wednesday afternoons, enjoy a game of cards.

Craft day is the third Monday of the month.

Foot Clinic is on the third Tuesday of the month. The nurse arrives at 9 a.m. Bring a towel. Call the center to register for the foot clinic.

ESCANABA — Learn dance steps while improving strength, balance, and muscle tone. Monday, Wednesday or Thursdays from 12:45 to 2 p.m. at the Escanaba Senior Center. Sign in at the office.

Sit-n-fit exercise class

ESCANABA — Fitness chair exercises to improve strength, stretching, balance, flexibility and muscle will be held every Monday and Friday at 11a.m. at the Escanaba Senior Center. Sign in at the office. The event is free.
