Vandermissen completes basic training in San Antonio, Texas

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Andrew Vandermissen graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Vandermissen is the son of Gregory and Laura Vandermissen of Wilson and brother of Lindsay Larson of Gladstone. He is also the brother of Bradley Vandermissen.

The airman graduated in 2015 from Bark River-Harris Junior/Senior High School and earned an associate degree in 2017 from Bay De Noc Community College.
