ESCANABA — Visitors to the five homes featured on the AAUW “Homes for Holidays” house tours enjoyed a variety of home settings and decorations during the Sunday tours.

Begun in 1976, the tours were originally held during the summer, initially to celebrate the bicentennial.

Over the past eight years, the tours took on a Christmas holiday theme, giving guests the opportunity to see area homes on display at Christmas.

The tours are held every two years and proceeds from the tours are earmarked for two AAUW scholarships at Bay College. AAUW is open to men and women holding an associates degree or higher. Established in 1881, it promotes gender equality and life long learning. For more information on AAUW, contact 474-6545.
