Hafeman to speak at Veterans Day luncheon

HERMANSVILLE — Past Department of Michigan American Legion Commander, Bill Hafeman, will be the guest speaker at Hermansville Post 340 luncheon, Nov. 11.

A forty-year life member of the American Legion, Hafeman has served as Past Commander and Adjutant of Tony Revord Post 244, Powers; 11th District Commander; 5th Zone Commander, and as Past Commander and Adjutant of the U.P. Association of American Legion Posts and the State of Michigan as its Commander in 2010-11.

A Marine Corps veteran, Hafeman currently serves the American Legion as its Post Service Officer; the U.P. Association of American Legion Posts as Chairman of the Time and Place Committee, and the Department of Michigan as Director of Finance Officer of the Wilwin Veteran’s Facility in Custer.

Hafeman also serves the Upper Peninsula as chairman of the U.P ­Veteran of the Year ­Committee.

He is a graduate of the School of Business from Northern Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance. A retired businessman, Mr. Hafeman is married to his wife, Jan. They have two children, Dr. Bonnie Hafeman of Calumet and Laura Janczewski of Zegocina, Poland. They have nine grandchildren.
