Homeless Shelter Changes Locations

ESCANABA — First United Methodist Church, 302 S. 6th St. in Escanaba, will be the next host site for Delta County’s rotating homeless shelter beginning this Sunday evening, November 26. Volunteers are still needed for a number of shifts.

NAMI offers support

MARQUETTE — The National Alliance on Mental Illness-Alger/Marquette offers confidential support groups and educational meetings for individuals living with mental illness, and friends or families living with an individual with mental illness.

NAMI-A/M will host a Post-Thanksgiving-Pre-Christmas holiday gathering Monday, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. in the Baraga Place Conference Room, 129 West Baraga Avenue, Marquette. Tickets on sale for AAUW’s Santa Lunch

ESCANABA — This year’s Lunch with Santa will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2. The event starts at 11 a.m. at the Central United Methodist Church (322 S. Lincoln Road, Escanaba) and includes a pizza lunch, treat bags, live Christmas music, a toy raffle, and a visit with Santa! Tickets are $5 and available at Gust Asp’s through Friday, Dec. 1 – no tickets will be sold at the door.

The Escanaba Area AAUW has hosted this community event for over 30 years. Proceeds support two (2) Bay College scholarships each year. Since 1976, the Escanaba Area AAUW has contributed over $25,000 in scholarship awards.

Pease holds a book signing Nov. 25

ESCANABA — Jennifer Pease from Escanaba will hold a book signing Saturday, Nov. 25 at Book World, from 1 to 3 p.m. to represent her new book titled “Pirate Vixen, A Test of Fate.” Other books include: “My Love for Disney,” and “Pirate Vixen of the Red Dawn.” Books can be purchased on Good Reads, Amazon, and in book stores.

WELLS — The winner of week 16 of the Wells Lions 52 club raffle is Kevin Gartland of Escanaba, winning $100.

St Anthony/St Thomas Christmas Bazaar

ESCANABA — St Anthony/St Thomas Church Bazaar will be held Dec. 3, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dinner of ham, meatballs, cabbage rolls, mashed potatoes/gravy, vegetables, Jell-o, rolls, pies and beverages will be served. There will be a fee to attend the Church Bazaar. Cash and baskets raffles, 50/50, crafts, bake sale.
