Pease holds a book signing Nov. 25

ESCANABA — Jennifer Pease from Escanaba will hold a book signing Saturday, Nov. 25 at Book World, from 1 to 3 p.m. to represent her new book titled “Pirate Vixen, A Test of Fate.” Other books include: “My Love for Disney,” and “Pirate Vixen of the Red Dawn.” Books can be purchased on Good Reads, Amazon, and in book stores.

Right to Life of Delta County meets Dec. 5

ESCANABA — Right to Life of Delta County will meet, Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 6:45 p.m. in Room 961 of the Joseph Heirman University Center at Bay College. The winners of the Oct. Respect Life poster contest for grade school students will be presented their awards at 6:45 p.m. before the meeting.

Plans will be made to observe the 45th anniversary, Jan. 22, 2018 of the Row V Wade, Supreme Courts decision that legalized abortion up until birth in this country. Plans include, a special billboard, a full page signature ad in the Daily Press and the 9th annual trip to Washington D.C. for the March for Life.

Cribbage in Gladstone

GLADSTONE — The Bay de Noc Peggers Club 218 will play each Monday at 7 p.m. at the Lake Bluff Retirement Village Community Center. Nine games of cribbage are played one-on-one with, one fourth of the players earning money. The club has existed for over 20 years and members earn points that add up to awards from the American Cribbage Congress (ACC). Points are earned with two for a win, zero for a loss and three for a skunk.

Medicare and Medicaid forum on Nov. 29

ESCANABA — North Woods Place Senior Living in collaboration with Christian Park Village and UPCAP will be hosting a community forum to help inform the community about Medicare and Medicaid.

The forum aims to help residents understand new health care options, understand Medicare and Medicaid options, compare or enroll in Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage, review individual Medicare supplemental insurance needs, apply for Medicaid or Medicare Savings Program, and protect themselves from Medicare fraud.

This community forum will be held Wednesday, Nov. 29 at North Woods Place Senior Living, 501 South Lincoln Road, Escanaba, 3 to 5 p.m.

Senior Center lunches offer an escape

GLADSTONE — Winter is coming. Why stay at home when you and your friends, can come to the Gladstone Senior Center for entertainment and a great lunch every weekday at 11:30 a.m. If you are a 60 year old or older you can get a delicious balanced meal for a donation. There is a different meal each day and a monthly schedule of the meals is available at the Senior Center. Come in to learn more about the opportunities that the Center has to offer.

Taco Tuesday hosted by Legion Post 71 returns

GLADSTONE –American Legion Post 71 welcomes the public to Taco Tuesday serving from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. each week at the Gladstone Legion Hall, 802 Delta Ave. Both hard and soft tacos are available, along with nachos and nachos supreme.

Gladstone class of ’73 holds 45th reunion

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone High School class of 1973 will hold their 45th class reunion on Saturday, July 7, 2018 starting at 5 p.m. The reunion will be held at the Gladstone Golf Club in Gladstone.
