Public Health clinics planed for Nov. 20-24

ESCANABA — The Escanaba health clinic schedule for Public Health Delta Menominee Counties for the week of Nov. 20-24 includes:

Monday — WIC

Tuesday — Late Night Family Planning; Late Night Immunizations

Wednesday — Family Planning; WIC

Thursday — Office Closed

Friday — Office Closed

All clients are seen by appointment only. Evening and Saturday appointments are available for some clinics. Anonymous HIV/AIDS testing and counseling is also available. In Delta County, call 786-4111 about any of these services, and in Menominee County, call (906)863-4451.

Craft show and lunch Saturday at 10 a.m.

FLAT ROCK — Holy Family Church in Flat Rock will be sponsoring its annual craft show and luncheon on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with lunch being served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is no admission fee but their is a cost for the luncheon, which includes: soup, sandwiches, salads and desserts A wide variety of crafters will be selling their products. The church is located at 4011 County Road 416 20th Road, Gladstone.

Ladies Advent Tea planned for Dec. 2

ESCANABA — Ladies Advent Tea hosted by Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 615 South 30th Street, Escanaba, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m. The program “Keeping Christ in Christmas” will focus on symbols of Christmas and their Christian meaning. It is a great opportunity to set aside the hustle and bustle of holiday preparation to focus our minds and hearts on the birth of Christ. Refreshments/desserts will be served after the program. Everyone is welcome to attend this event.

Steak dinner on table in Gladstone Nov. 30

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone American Legion Post 71 offers a steak dinner on the last Thursday of each month from 4:30 to 7 p.m. There is a fee to attend. For additional information, call 428-1050.

Taco Tuesday hosted by Legion Post 71 returns

GLADSTONE — American Legion Post 71 welcomes the public to Taco Tuesday serving from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. each week at the Gladstone Legion Hall, 802 Delta Ave. Both hard and soft tacos are available, along with nachos and nachos supreme.

Sit-n-fit exercise class

ESCANABA — Fitness chair exercises to improve strength, stretching, balance, flexibility and muscle will be held every Monday and Friday at 11a.m. at the Escanaba Senior Center. Sign in at the office. The event is free.

Line Dancing at the Escanaba Senior Center

ESCANABA — Learn dance steps while improving strength, balance, and muscle tone. Monday, Wednesday or Thursdays from 12:45 to 2 p.m. at the Escanaba Senior Center. Sign in at the office.

Preschool story hour starts on Tuesday

ESCANABA — Webster School is hosting preschool story hour from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Webster Elementary Library. Story hour includes a story that will be read, a snack will be shared, and a craft will be made. The next story hours will be held on Nov. 21, Dec. 5 and 19, Jan. 9 and 23, Feb. 6 and 20, March 6 and 20, and April 3 and 17.

Children will receive a new book to keep as well. This is a free activity and all young children are welcome. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Day cares are welcome. If you are bringing a daycare, call the school in advance to let them know at 786-6118.
