Coin club to hold meeting Tuesday

GLADSTONE — The next meeting for the Delta Coin Club will be Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. The club meets every second Tuesday at 817 Delta Ave. in Gladstone. New members or anyone interested in coins are always welcome.

Breakfast buffet at Legion Post 71

GLADSTONE — American Legion Post 71 welcomes the public to an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet from 9 a.m. to noon the third Sunday of each month. The breakfast will include ham, sausage, scrambled eggs, cheesy hashbrowns, fried potatoes, hash, biscuits and gravy, toast, coffee, orange juice, omelets to order, pancakes, French toast, and sweets. There is a fee to attend.

Meditation available on Tuesdays at Bonifas

ESCANABA — The Little Bay Zen Buddhist Sangha is a Buddhist community that practices zazen (sitting meditation), kinhin (walking meditation) and Dharma discussion at the Bonifas Arts Center in downtown Escanaba on Tuesday nights at 6:30 p.m.

Preschool story hour starts on Tuesday

ESCANABA — Webster School is hosting preschool story hour from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Webster Elementary Library. Story hour includes a story that will be read, a snack that will be shared, and a craft that will be made. The next story hours will be held on Nov. 21, Dec. 5 and 19, Jan. 9 and 23, Feb. 6 and 20, March 6 and 20, and April 3 and 17.

Children will receive a new book to keep as well. This is a free activity and all young children are welcome. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Day cares are welcome. If you are bringing a daycare, call the school in advance to let them know at 786-6118.

Cribbage in Gladstone

GLADSTONE — The Bay de Noc Peggers Club 218 will play each Monday at 7 p.m. at the Lake Bluff Retirement Village Community Center. Nine games of cribbage are played one-on-one with, one fourth of the players earning money. The club has existed for over 20 years and members earn points that add up to awards from the American Cribbage Congress (ACC). Points are earned with two for a win, zero for a loss and three for a skunk.

Play begins at 7 p.m. each Monday New players are welcomed. Call Joe or Donna Aird at 428-3844 for more information.
